Hazardous Area Inspection & Testing

There are industries where explosive atmospheres can potentially develop, these include:

• Petrochemical industry
• Manufacture or storage of large amounts of gas, flammable liquids or powders
• Chemical manufacturing
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing

Regulations and Directives applicable are:

• DSEAR – The dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations.
• ATEX – Explosive Atmospheres Directive

DSEAR and ATEX are enforced by the HSE, local authorities, fire services and the petroleum licensing authorities.

As an NICEIC approved company, Hornbill is able to carry out design, installation, inspection and testing and general maintenance of electrical installation within hazardous areas. All of which are carried out in accordance with BS60079.

All work and comprehensive reporting is carried out by our CompEx trained and qualified technicians.

With the resources of Hornbill Industrial Training all technicians and inspectors are routinely updated and can also call upon the additional experience of our trainers and assessors. This resource is also available to our customers.
