Low Voltage – Case Study 1

Hornbill were contacted by a client who historically used other local companies to complete their maintenance / small installation projects; However on this occasion the other companies could not respond in the rapid time frame required.

Owing to a significant fire within their premises, which took out a complete section of their process. We were asked to carry out the electrical, instrument and control installation in a quick turnaround which also included the design and build of control panels.

The project started with the removal of old equipment and large steel framework from a small enclosed area. Installation of cable containment traywork along the entire length of the proposed new pickling tank from the enclosed area (Control and power room) was carried out.

Cable designs were completed along with control design, which was based on our clients control philosophy.

The completed panels were delivered to site, cables were supplied, installed, glanded, tested and terminated.

The installation was completed on time, and in addition Hornbill assisted with commissioning.

Since the installation we have continued to supply cover for inspection work required on other areas of plant and we are currently quoting further and ongoing work.
