Hornbill were contacted by a customer from a Nitrogen extraction, compression and distribution plant to assist them with a reconditioning and refurbishment exercise to allow their existing facility to increase output.
We worked as part of a consortium group of contractors to ensure the overall success of the project.
Work involved included site inspections and assessments of existing instrumentations, identifying equipment requiring repair, refurbishment or replacement. All recommendations were reported to the client and we supported them in the procurement of selected equipment.
In addition to this Hornbill worked to check calibration and where necessary recalibrate instrumentation and valve controllers; installed new instrumentation pipe work, instruments and miscellaneous electrical components.
After this loop testing was carried out in close cooperation with the client and the selected automation supplier.
Hornbill proceeded to provide problem solving commission support as the plant returned to operation and a full set of loop test records produced.
